Privacy – It takes two to tango
Today is the European day for privacy, apparently. The EU or EC has done a great job in Preventing this day from becoming common knowledge in Europe, perhaps for privacy reasons. Most people aware of privacy concerns are rather eager to support extensive privacy legislation, makes sense. However, most people aware and not aware of privacy concerns dump lots of private information theirselves without consideration easily, too easily. Have you ever claimed back your copy of your driver license, handed over when test driving or renting a car? Have you ever asked if shops are allowed to store your ID and if so, is it stored safe and properly? Got a schredder at home? Do you actually use it? I Guess not. So, you should make sure to get your act together as well. About all other scenario’s, don’t worry too much about your privacy, no country has the capacity to process your complaint anyway.

2008 Road to knowhere?
Stumbling towards 2013, we will have to face 2008 first. Despite poor economics it's going to be a great year, Bush will be replaced resulting in a much safer and probably cleaner world. Let's focus more on better global distribution of water, food and meds and we will see more and more healthy people inhabiting Earth.
Biggest challenge in Holland is that we face mass scale theft growing fast as well. This exceptional successful criminal organisation has been around for too many years and is very hard to combat as Governments usually are.

Will InfoSec related developments and implementations bring us better news? I'm afraid not. Human Nature is here to stay, Networks are to become more complex and even more critical to infrastructures. Vendors are here to lock us all in by swapping products with services, taking away our control and in the end having fun when computing.
